Doris Day will not be appearing in any immediate Clint Eastwood film

False claims
It seems there have been a lot of rumours circulating from last week stating that the 91-year-old star of Calamity Jane has reportedly been in talks with Eastwood, her neighbour in Carmel Valley, California. According to German tabloid Bild, she is allegedly delighted with the opportunity and is involved in negotiations to make a return. She has allegedly made two demands: the film must be shot in Carmel and a cut of the profits must go to her animal welfare charity. Her last film was the romantic comedy With Six You Get Egg roll (1968).

It all sounds rather too good to be true doesn't it?

Well, as it turns out, it is all just a fabricated rumour. Today, it has been reported by (Day’s publicity spokesperson), Charley Walters, that Doris Day denies any such role in any new Clint Eastwood film. Walters quashed the report that the 91-year-old star will make comeback in a new movie for her Oscar-winning California neighbour.
Doris Day denied reports in the German newspaper that she is set for a return to the big screen after close to half a century of retirement. German tabloid Bild also said that Eastwood had presented Day with a script on a recent visit.

“While Doris always appreciates hearing from her fans, the rumours about her returning to the big screen are not true,” said Walters. “She adores her long-time friend Clint Eastwood, but Doris’s recent and current focus remains on her Doris Day Animal Foundation, which continues to help animals and the people who love them.”
