Yes, another year passes with Clint celebrating his 85th Birthday today. On behalf of all fans, we'd like to offer you our very best birthday wishes. I came across this story, just this morning from the Manchester Evening News.
Clint Eastwood immortalised in mosaic artwork ahead of his 85th birthday
Manchester-based artist Ed Chapman created the £10,000 work
out of thousands of bullet casings.
The iconic
image of Clint Eastwood staring down the barrel of a gun has been immortalised
by a Salford artist - in bullets.
Celebrated
mosaic artist Ed Chapman created the work to mark the actor’s 85th birthday on
Sunday (May 31).
The portrait
of Eastwood in the 1971 film Dirty Harry was painstakingly put together over
several weeks and contains exactly 8,890 used cartridges.
Six of these
are .44 Magnum cases, with one being interchangeable, in a nod to the Dirty
Harry Callaghan’s iconic line: “Did I fire six shots or only five?”
Chapman
said: “I have always been a fan of Clint Eastwood and Dirty Harry is probably
my favourite film of his, among so many other great movies.
“I had to go
into a sort of trance to keep focussed on his portrait and I am delighted with
the results.”
A buyer is
already interested in snapping up the unique 87x140cm artwork, which is valued
at £10,000.
