Dirty Harry back at the BFI in 2022

Dirty Harry back at the BFI in 2022
I’m very happy to announce that Dirty Harry will be back on the Big Screen this year at the BFI, Southbank, London. It was back in 2020 that Dirty Harry was originally scheduled to be screened during the proposed Clint Eastwood season. Then of course, Covid hit and sadly the whole thing was cancelled.
Dirty Harry is now scheduled to be shown on Wednesday, 27th October 2022 as part of the BFI’s Big Screen Classics. According to the BFI’s events calendar tickets are naturally not available for sale as yet. However, I will be giving my contact there a call soon to get the latest information – so keep a regular check here.
The screening will be a Digital presentation (which now carries a 15 certificate) and will include a pre-recorded intro by film scholar Hannah Hamad of Cardiff University. Last year on the Archive we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Dirty Harry as it was released in the U.S. during December of 1971. However, the film went on general release in the majority of domestic and foreign territories throughout 1972 – so why shouldn’t we continue to celebrate this masterpiece throughout 2022!
